The Audi R8 LMS GT4 race car makes its first appearance in China on display at the Shanghai Audi International Circuit, this weekend, part of the Audi Sport festival that includes the Audi R8 LMS Cup’s double-header round.
Alongside the Audi R8 LMS and the Audi RS 3 LMS, the Audi R8 LMS GT4 is the third race car from Audi Sport customer racing.
The vehicle represents the marque’s first foray into the fast-growing GT4 segment, with the car expected to feature strongly in Asia’s leading motorsport events and series.
“Audi Sport customer racing Asia is delighted to welcome its new family member to Asia,” commented Martin Kuehl, Director of Audi Sport customer racing Asia.
“The Audi R8 LMS GT4 is a dynamic, customer-friendly, cost-effective and safe racing car tailor-made for gentlemen drivers and those embarking on a GT career.”
Customer orders will begin at the end of the year, however interested teams and drivers may already pre-register with Audi Sport customer racing Asia.
Owners in Asia will receive industry-leading parts and technical support from Audi Sport customer racing Asia from delivery.
The car will be eligible to compete in the Blancpain GT Series Asia, which plans to expand into standalone GT4 races next year, as well as other SRO-run championships in the region, including the new Asia-Pacific 36 Cup.
