{"id":2669,"date":"2018-10-02T18:28:36","date_gmt":"2018-10-02T10:28:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ultimaterentals.com.au\/?p=2669"},"modified":"2018-10-02T18:28:36","modified_gmt":"2018-10-02T10:28:36","slug":"2019-audi-r8-teased","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ultimaterentals.com.au\/2019-audi-r8-teased\/","title":{"rendered":"2019 AUDI R8 TEASED"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>Performance division previews updated supercar ahead of Paris debut.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Audi Sport<\/strong>\u00a0has published a quick teaser video of what we believe to be the refreshed\u00a0<strong>R8 supercar<\/strong>, ahead of its full reveal at the Paris motor show later this week.<\/p>\n<p>Posted to the performance arm\u2019s Twitter feed, the 10-second clip is captioned: \u201cReady to let loose with our new beauty in Paris on October 2nd. #ParisMotorShow #MondialAuto #LeagueofPerformance\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>From what we can see here, the updated\u00a0R8\u00a0will get a larger front grille and three horizontal slots between the headlights \u2013 which not only echoes the design elements on the new\u00a0A1 hatchback, but also the original Audi Quattro.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bigbluetaurus.ath.cx\/projects\/ucra-info\/2019-audi-r8-teased-caradvice\/photos\/#2019-Audi-R8-GT-Facelift-14\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-657456 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.caradvice.com.au\/thumb\/750\/422\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/2019-Audi-R8-GT-Facelift-14.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2000\" height=\"1125\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Recent images\u00a0of development prototypes lead us to believe that the new R8 will get relatively minor revisions to the front and rear, with more angular intakes and new bumpers. The rear will also get a grille-like insert between the tail-lights.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0coupe prototypes\u00a0we\u2019ve seen have also been sporting a larger fixed rear wing than the V10 Plus variant currently on sale, along with much larger circular tailpipes that hark back to the first-generation R8 V10.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>These design elements have led some to speculate that the new supercar will get a more focused R8 GT variant like the previous-gen model \u2013 though all this is speculation at this stage.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bigbluetaurus.ath.cx\/projects\/ucra-info\/2019-audi-r8-teased-caradvice\/photos\/#2019-Audi-R8-GT-Facelift-12\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-657454 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.caradvice.com.au\/thumb\/750\/422\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/2019-Audi-R8-GT-Facelift-12.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2000\" height=\"1125\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Changes are expected to be made to the powertrain, too, with overseas reports claiming the updated R8\u2019s\u00a0<strong>5.2-litre naturally-aspirated V10<\/strong>\u00a0could develop somewhere\u00a0<strong>between 650 and 670 horsepower (485-500kW)<\/strong>\u00a0in its most potent form.<\/p>\n<p>However, our guess is at most the R8 will opt for the 470kW\/600Nm tune from the related\u00a0Lamborghini Huracan Performante.\u00a0Currently, the most powerful R8 variant \u2013 the V10 Plus \u2013 makes 449kW of power and 560Nm.<\/p>\n<p>We learned last week that the facelifted R8 could spawn\u00a0another \u2018RWS\u2019 rear-wheel drive version\u00a0based on the success of the limited-edition model launched earlier this year, which was capped at 999 units globally.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bigbluetaurus.ath.cx\/projects\/ucra-info\/2019-audi-r8-teased-caradvice\/photos\/#2019-Audi-R8-Spyder-facelift-2\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-668018 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.caradvice.com.au\/thumb\/750\/422\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/2019-Audi-R8-Spyder-facelift-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2000\" height=\"1126\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In addition to the aforementioned design and powertrain upgrades, we should see the updated R8 offer\u00a0Audi\u2019s most up-to-date infotainment systems given its flagship status, though we wouldn\u2019t expect to see the marque\u2019s full suite of driver-assistance systems as per its passenger car models.<\/p>\n<p>Source: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.caradvice.com.au\/690290\/2019-audi-r8-teased\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">caradvice.com.au<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Audi Sport has published a quick teaser video of what we believe to be the refreshed R8 supercar, ahead of its full reveal at the Paris motor show.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":2671,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[75],"tags":[76,256,240],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v22.6 -
